National Quality Standard Assessment

Balwyn East Kindergarten has been rated Meeting National Quality Standard under the National Quality Framework (NQF).

The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a national benchmark for the quality of children’s education and care services across Australia.

As the NQF progresses, every service in the country will be assessed on its progress in meeting the quality standard.

Services receive a rating for each of the seven quality areas in the NQS, as well as an overall rating.

An overall Meeting National Quality Standard rating is given to services that meet all standards in the National Quality Standard.

Particularly pleasing was that two of the National Quality Areas – ‘Relationships with children’ and ‘Collaborative partnerships with families and communities’ – were highlighted as being exceptional, achieving an Exceeding National Quality Standard, which is outstanding.

The National Quality Framework (NQF) for early childhood education and care was agreed by all Australian governments to get better educational and development outcomes for children using education and care services.

Implementation of the NQF is guided by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
